Commelius announced as double winners with Royal Mail Group and MyWorkSearch at IT Training Awards 2011

London, UK – 14 February 2011: Commelius has demonstrated the value of its blended learning solutions with double wins for its clients at the prestigious IT Training Awards 2011. The awards, run by the Institute of IT Training, were given for External Training Project of the Year with Royal Mail Group (Gold) and Learning Technologies Solution of the Year with MyWorkSearch (Silver).

Commelius’s unique capability to design, deliver and deploy end-to-end learning solutions is showcased by the different awards.

External Training Project of the Year
Royal Mail Group’s Connect 2010 programme involved migrating 27,500 users from Lotus Notes to the new Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS). The technology roll-out was managed by Commelius’s strategic partner CSC, with the end user training delivered by Commelius in just a 10 week period. The learning was deployed using bespoke e-learning modules, face-to-face training, webinars, floor walking and mentoring, all underpinned by ALTO Learning Management System. The judges commented ‘This project was ambitious from the start and Commelius produced a well-designed roll-out programme with an excellent outcome.’

They continue, ‘The numbers involved – staff, territory, and timescale – were a real challenge. To produce such an extremely innovative and well thought through programme under these circumstances, is a tribute to Commelius’s ingenuity, vision, risk management and deployment capability.’ Adrian Steel, the visionary Programme Manager at Royal Mail Group who led Connect 2010 explains, ‘It was an intense project but Commelius came every step of the way on the journey with us and ultimately delivered a great result.’

Learning Technologies Solution of the Year
MyWorkSearch, the specialist in online re-employment assistance, has transformed an industry traditionally based on a high cost face-to-face contact model. Its powerful online jobseekers toolkit guides users through three fundamental steps to securing work – finding a job, having the best job application and giving the best interview. Its innovative online technologies can be tailored to individual requirements and assist in the managing and tracking of the large numbers of applications needed to secure employment in today’s market.

Working in partnership with Commelius, the MyWorkSearch solution has evolved from an online knowledge management tool to an integrated learning technology solution with e-learning at the heart of its success. The judges explained ‘Commelius adopted a highly collaborative approach to partnering and content development that has resulted in a clearly synergistic partnership. The site makes excellent use of analytics and takes the concept of a nudge engine to the next level. We applaud the emphasis on usability and accessibility.’

Collecting the award on behalf of MyWorkSearch, pioneering CEO Richard Alberg said, ‘I am absolutely delighted to have the innovative aspect of our solution recognised. When we introduced the e-learning, it was a major advance for our business and it had an immediate impact on our users, with over 30,000 people now using our e-learning content.’

Concludes Bob Woodland, Chairman and CEO of Commelius, ‘We are delighted that the hard work of our team and our clients at both Royal Mail Group and MyWorkSearch has been recognised by the Institute of IT Training. Commelius‘s portfolio means we are in a unique position to create innovative solutions, using a mix of learning technologies and techniques. I am proud to work with clients that are so passionately dedicated to their learners and ultimately, to delivering results to their organisations and their own customers.’

The IT Training Awards evening also includes a charity auction for ChildLine to which Commelius donated a prize. In a special moment, Esther Rantzen, ChildLine’s patron, presented IITT Chairman Colin Steed with axxxx for raising over £200,000 for the charity.
